为了促进海内外华人地球科学家的研讨与合作，提高中国地球与行星科学的研究和教育水平，国际华人地球科学家协会（IPACES）联合中国科研实验室地质与地球物理研究所（IGG-CAS）和中国地震局地质研究所（IG-CEA），将于2024年7月2日-7月4日在北京组织召开“地球与行星科学前沿国际研讨会暨国际华人地球科学家协会（IPACES）2024年会”。本次会议将围绕固体地球/行星科学、地球化学/构造环境等主题，邀请海内外IPACES成员及国内/国际知名科学家共同探讨地球与行星科学领域前沿问题，并开设面向年轻学者与学生的科研培训系列讲座。会议非常鼓励国内外青年科学家及研究生参加研讨会。
国际华人地球科学家协会（IPACES）创建于1999年，原名国际中国地球科学促进会，是由海外杰出华人地球科学家组成的一个非盈利性学术组织，致力于促进地球科学的国际合作和支持全球华人科学家的职业开展。自创办以来，IPACES年会已成为海内外华人地球科学家研讨的重要平台，学科领域覆盖广泛，交叉特色突出，为促进华人地球科学开展做出了重要贡献。
